Jennifer ‘s life goal is to serve the Lord through serving families. She has recently accepted the position of Director of Admission after a twenty year career in Early Childhood Education, serving fifteen years at Northside Academy for Early Learning. Her son Corey, graduated Northside Christian Academy in 2014 and she delights in sharing her love and appreciation for Northside during every tour!

Mrs. Grams has been a part of Northside Christian Academy for the last seventeen years, as a teacher and administrator. She is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in education. She has three daughters that keep her schedule busy. Two daughters attend Northside Christian Academy. The oldest daughter is a recent graduate of Northside, and it a freshman at UNC Charlotte. The twins are beginning their sophomore year at Northside, and her husband is an alumnus of Northside Christian Academy. Her current assignments include Individualized Learning Center Director, Knights Ahead teacher, and administration for kindergarten through fifth grades.

Hatchett, Mr. Erasto

Coach Erasto Hatchett is a native of Lexington, KY who holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University. He played point guard for the Golden Bulls and would eventually begin his coaching journey there. He held coaching positions at Cannon School in Concord, Raleigh’s Word of God, several AAU programs as well as serving as an assistant for Saint Augustine’s University and semi-pro team, Cary Invasion.

We’re excited to welcome Coach Hatchett to the NCA Family, where he will also coach our varsity boys basketball team! He and his wife, Tiffany, have two daughters, Aaliyah (12) and Madison (10).

Holmes, Mrs. Bonnie

Bonnie attended Florida State University and earned her B.S. in Elementary Education. She holds a North Carolina teaching license. She taught in Chapel Hill and Charlotte public schools prior to coming to Northside Christian Academy. Bonnie and her husband, Bret, have 2 daughters: one who attends Northside and one who is an NCA graduate! Over the past 6 years, Bonnie has worked as a teacher’s aide and assistant and now holds the office of College Guidance Counselor. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the mountains, photography, and scrapbooking.

Having been a valuable member of the NCA Family for many years, Mrs. Johnson has been such a blessing to us here with her positive spirit, her compassion and her persistence in praying for us! And if you think that’s impressive, you’ll also find that she has a great sense of humor to boot!

  • I came to NCA when I started Kindergarten and graduated in 2006 (Im known as a “lifer”)
  • I started working as an assistant teacher while in high school and 13 years later I am now the Director
  • I coached cheer leading this past yr
  • Ive been married for 11 years now to Brian 
  • We have 3 kiddos who attend Kailey 10 yr old, Ella, 3 yr old Levi 1 yr old
  • I enjoy family time, photography, going to the beach and Disney World

Romano, Dr. Sue

Dr. Romano has been in Christian education for over 30 years, with 10 of those being in administration.  A graduate of Welch College in Nashville, NC, and NC State University, Dr. Romano is passionate about “training up children in the way they should go.”  She loves investing in the lives of young people and encouraging them to follow the Lord as they pursue their own passions and dreams.  When Dr. Romano is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family.  She is an avid reader, and enjoys theatre.  She also enjoys traveling and meeting people from various cultures.  It is her desire to honor God and to please Him with all of her endeavors.

Smith, Mr. Bill

Bill attended Appalachian State University where he played football and earned his B.S. in Community & Regional Planning.  He also holds a Masters degree in City Planning from Georgia Tech. Additionally, Bill has a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is an ordained Pastor. Underneath all that humility and grace, he is a very smart cookie!

Bill has been married to his wife, Lyn, for 31 years, and they have 2 grown children – Emily & Caleb.  Emily Mayes is married to Ethan, and she is a teacher and coach at Charlotte Christian. Ethan is in management with Quick Trip.  Caleb works for Young LIfe’s Windy Gap camp.  All the Smith family are alumni of ASU!  Bill enjoy coaching, golf, and photography.  He coaches several teams, and he is a photographer for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. Talk about a busy guy!

Having 17 years of experience in serving NCA (most of which has been in the role of Administrative Assistant to the Head of School) Mrs. Phylia Smith enjoys working with the Administrative Team and staff of NCA to continue to provide excellence to our students and school families! She loves the family environment combined with the well-rounded programs, academic excellence and spiritual support/development that NCA provides. She also happens to be the proud mother of 3 NCA graduates who are faithfully serving their communities and churches because of the strong background that they received here at NCA!

With a strong belief in the mission of a global classroom, Mrs. Starkey enthusiastically serves as our International Admissions Director. Her passion in the area of student advocacy, along with the desire for the students in our International community to know that they are truly loved and given a secure environment, ensures that they have the best chance at success in their study abroad experiences!
But wait – there’s more! With nineteen consecutive years as an NCA parent and fifteen years as an NCA employee, Pamela has graduated four children from NCA as well as five (yes, can you say FIVE?) international students; she is currently hosting two international students and looks forward to working with all of the new students the Lord brings to NCA! Needless to say, we are quite grateful that Pamela has chosen to invest her passions and abilities into NCA!
