In our infant department, we have two rooms; 1 room is dedicated to infants (6 weeks to crawling) and the second room is our Toddler room (which is dedicated to those children that are more mobile.)

Rooms – Our spacious rooms are sanitized twice daily.  All employees have clean shoes they wear only in the infant room, helping to maintain a sanitary environment.  The Child Care provides sheets and blankets for your child, and our laundry staff makes sure each child has a clean sheet and blanket for every day!

Ratios - In each infant room we have no more than 10 children and three teachers.  Because of the low teacher/child ratio, we are able to play, cuddle, and love on the babies a lot more!

Feeding Time – Imagine feeding 10 infants at one time!  That is another reason having an extra teacher is an added plus!  We feed the infants in their room, in high chairs, and the toddlers are fed in tot-lock seats in the cafeteria.

Staff - Our teachers are all mothers themselves and have a loving and caring spirit.  Almost all of our infant/toddler staff has been trained in infant CPR and know how to handle an emergency situation.  It is an added "plus" for us in that we have 2 ladies working in the infant area that were formerly nurses.  They have taken a leave in nursing, and are now working for us in our infant area!

Stimuli - We know this stage in an infant’s life is important because they are growing so quickly.  The more stimuli they have throughout their day, the better for the baby in their growth and development.  Not only do we provide the physical stimuli of touch through our loving and cuddling and rocking, but we sing to the babies, play music, and provide age appropriate toys for them to explore.

 Infants

 Needs List

• Juice & formula (pre-made)
• Bottle caps on each bottle
• Approximately 4 bottles for feeding
• Disposable diapers (labeled with child’s name in the fold)
• One pacifier to remain in room (if applicable)
• Several changes of clothes in diaper bag (including socks)
• 2 bibs (snap or pullover, non-returnable)
• Please label all bottles, lids, nipple rings, baby food jars, and diapers

 Daily Schedule

• 6:30 - 8:30 Babies play on floor, in swings, and bouncy seats until they are ready for their morning nap.
• 8:30 – 9:30 Morning nap for babies on food
• 9:30 – 10:30 Change diapers and feed jar food to bigger babies
• 10:30 - 11:00 Bottles are given at this time. This is playtime for babies. Teachers play pat-a-cake, sing songs, and rock babies.
• 11:30 - 2:00 Change diapers and put all babies down for a nap. Soft music and lullabies are played during this time.
• 2:00 - 3:30 Medicine is given at 2:00. Change diapers and feed bottles to all babies. (Babies are changed and fed as they awaken. Teachers do not wake up babies to be fed.)
• 3:00 – 6:00 Babies play in swings, on floor, and listen to music.

 Toddlers

 Needs List

• Disposable diapers (labeled with child’s name in the fold)
• Change of clothes, including socks
• 2 large snap bibs (non-returnable)
• A small blanket (non-returnable)
• Washable toy for bed (optional)
• Training cup (Tupperware style – no handles)
• Bottles, pre-made (please label all parts of bottle)
• Medicine dropper or spoon if medication is to be given

 Daily Schedule

• 6:30 – 8:30 Children play while teachers greet children and parents.
• 8:30 – 9:30 Morning nap, if needed.
• 9:00 – 9:30 Morning snack, diaper change.
• 9:30 - 9:50 Children play
• 9:50 - 10:10 Story time with teachers! The teacher will read stories, sing songs, do finger plays, and blow bubbles.
• 10:10 – 11:00 Eat lunch in the big cafeteria
• 11:00 – 11:30 Change diapers.
• 11:30 – 2:00 Afternoon nap
• 2:00 – 2:30 Change diapers
• 2:30 – 3:00 Afternoon snack
• 3:00 – 4:00 Outside play, weather permitting
• 4:00 – 6:00 Change diapers, playtime and teacher interaction
